"There is nothing permanent except change." -Heraclitus
Are you going through a difficult change in your life? Whether it is starting or ending a relationship, going through a transition in school or work, graduating, beginning your career, starting a family, or losing a loved one, change always seems to be here. A major change can leave you feeling helpless, sad, overwhelmed, and confused about what to do next. During these periods, you might feel the need to resist. With empathy, understanding, and compassion, I will help you get through the turbulence and achieve a clearer understanding of why you think, feel, and behave the way you do. I will provide you with the tools to overcome these challenges and to find meaning and strength in change. I help children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples to navigate change and begin the next chapter of life with a new perspective and tools to thrive.
I grew up in Caracas, Venezuela. After receiving my bachelor’s degree in psychology, I started my professional career as a school psychologist at an elementary school where I worked for two years. My life took an unexpected turn when the political and economic conditions in Venezuela led me to pursue a new life and career in the United States where I went through both personal and professional changes. After receiving a masters in clinical psychology from Pepperdine University, I started working at PRYDE, a prevention, intervention, and counseling program in collaboration with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department to support at-risk youth and their families.
